The Conflicts

What are The Conflicts?

Description

The Conflicts are the significant in-universe historical events surrounding the immediate characters in the struggles. Each book is set in the same fantasy world, however with different characters, places, settings, cultures, and races.  Some are set in the same year. Some important events may happen on the same day across the stories. Other important events will happen months or years between the different storylines. Some might grow to intercept in strange ways.  Overall, each story is primarily focused on their own, immediate event with its connection to other events is either on the periphery or in the future.

Origin

The origin of the Conflicts begin in 2006, when I wrote my first book in high school. From there, the world and characters that originated from that story blossomed, if not in a convoluted way. After completing the original story, I spent years returning and trying to redraft it. One book became a plan for five. As those plans and outlines were made to flesh out the world, the individual plots, and characters, those books needed to be split up too. Multiple storylines running concurrently. Thus the idea was born to write this series as fantastical, historical events in the chronological order they occur in world. Each story will explore the individual conflict of the immediate story and gradually build the world with each published book, allowing the reader portions of the world to learn and enjoy while also remaining focus on stories of each individual book.

Where to start?

While all the books are set in the same world, not all will feature the same characters, have the same tone, nor continue the storylines of the previously published book. Because of this, some readers may have questions on where to start reading.  To answer that, it would be best if readers start by reading one of my first three books because they each act as the overall starters for the series.

For the Prince! For the Queen! is the first book in the series.  It is more of a political drama with the appropriate amount of action.  I recommend it the best starting point for readers wishing to get an introduction to my world and my writing style.

For the Bloody Marquesa! is the second book in the series and is primarily a war story.  If you as a reader would prefer more action in your fantasy stories, please feel free to start with this book and then swing back around to read For the Prince! For the Queen!

*Please note that only the first two starters are currently published at this time. Book 3 is currently in production.*
